The pair, both aged 18, impressed viewers on Saturday night with an energetic version of Queen's classic Under Pressure

They went down so well they even had the X Factor studio audience chanting their names and sailed through Sunday's results show.

The GI Joe-style dolls were made by custom toymakers ThatsMyFace.com and are 12-inches tall, fully articulated and even have interchangeable clothes.

Their bodies are made of plastic and the heads alone are two inches tall and are made of a special hard plaster-like material.

And with their trademark quiff towering over their head, the dolls' likeness to the pair is uncanny.

The makers of the one-off dolls are now going to auction off the figures to raise money for good causes.

Spokesman John Keaton said: "We're all really big fans of the lads and what they've been doing on the show.

"We thought this would be just the thing to show our support.

"Jedward have been the act everyone has been talking about for whole competition so far.

"They're the only ones we think are famous enough to have their own dolls.

"We're going to auction them for the Grimes family's favourite charities, The Marie Keating Foundation and the ISPCA.

"We hope the twins like what they see and after the past few weeks they've had we really hope they put a smile on their faces."

The toymakers behind the figures, based in the UK, specialise in making unique personalised presents.

It uses technologies used in facial reconstruction and facial analysis to transform 2D portraiture into 3D sculptures.

British customers who want to try and have their own their custom action figure made should expect to pay prices starting at £80.

The Jedward twins told last night how they have become the victims of a “savage” hate campaign being waged by vile X Factor obsessives.

John and Edward Grimes, 18, say the abuse has got so bad they’ve been left unable to sleep and have been reduced to tears after receiving a barrage of threats from fans in the street.

Last night in an exclusive interview with the Sunday Mirror, the pair said: “We get hate mail and vicious letters. Some of the hate mail is so bad X Factor haven’t let us see it.

“It’s hard when we have to go out and perform and be happy and confident and smiley because we know if we slip up they’ll come after us.”

John added: “I haven’t been sleeping for the last two or three nights.

“Websites say, ‘John and Edward are s***’. I get so upset by it I can’t sleep. It goes round and round in my head.

“We walk down the street and people say, ‘There's those losers’.

“We’ve had a gang come up to us saying, ‘There’s those twins’ and they came after us. We had to run away. We know there are a lot of people who hate us.

“We were in the street walking to our dance class when a whole family came past in a black car and shouted out, ‘We hate you. You’re w******’.

“Edward was shaken up and very upset. I had to calm him down and tell him not to think about it.

“All we want is for people to love us. It hurts us and our family.”

But while some fans of the show hate the twins, they have won an army of followers with their crazy tone-deaf act and become the unlikely runaway stars of this year’s show – even attracting attention from Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

And their popularity has riled rival contestants, they say other contestants who complain about their success should stop moaning and concentrate on with their OWN acts.

Asked whether their rival X Factor stars are jealous of their rise to fame, Edward said: “It doesn’t upset us because we have each other and that’s all we need.”

They are unrepentant about claims they have been keeping others awake at night with loud music – then getting up as early as 7am and making MORE noise as they start rehearsing for the next show.

Edward said it was due to the twins setting their own high standards because they are so desperate to give their best performance each and every week.

“We only stop practising to eat and sleep,” he said.

“The other acts go out on their days off but we’re the only ones who never go out of the house.

“There’s no point sitting around when we could be practising.

“We never watch telly. We get up at 7am to start and work through until 7pm. Then we have dinner and go through it again.”

John said of Danyl Johnson – who has crashed from being a favourite to finding himself battling for survival in a Sunday night sing-off: “If you’re in the bottom two, you just have to deal with it. You can’t stand there crying.

“He needs to pick himself up. There’s no point in going out there and feeling all sad.

“Don’t go, ‘oh I’m in the bottom two, I can’t do it anymore’. You’ve got to stop worrying. He needs to be more positive.”
